The U.S. Department of Education is offering a waiver to provide states with flexibility in administering the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program during the 2020-2021 school year. Through this , the statutory requirement for 21st CCLC services to be administered in non-school hours is waived, allowing campuses to provide in-person or remote 21st CCLC programming during the school day.
Current Cycle 9 and Cycle 10 21st CCLC grantees are eligible for this waiver, and all requirements beyond the out-of-school time requirement continue to apply to this grant.
The ֱ Education Agency (TEA) intends to apply for this waiver and is requesting public comment on the waiver prior to submitting the waiver application. Comments can be submitted to 21stcentury@tea.texas.gov by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2020, by email.
